Has anyone else had this happen to them?


I was driving at about 55mph with a friend of mine and we were coming up on a gradual left turn. I braked SLIGHTLY and my front end started shaking violently. It shook so hard it threw it out of gear(manual). I pulled over and checked my suspension and couldnt see anything wrong. Long story short have you checked your rack and pinion bushings lately? Mine fell out and the steering rack was no longer connected to the car.
Its EXTREMELY scary you have no control.

yeah vxturbo... it'll do that from time to time... that's why it's good to get underneath your car once in a while and check everything out...

Wow!!! Thanks for the info. I'll check mine first thing in the morning.
And while I'm under my car I'll do like Delerious says and check everything,including my muffler bearings. I've noticed my exhaust is making more noise than usual.

yah and dont forget to check and see if your piston return springs are still good or the johnson rods on your suspension lol

Of course there is. There installed right after the Kanuton valve.
The problem i've been having is micro static feedback thru my thermo cuplers.

i got dual muffler bearings and a flame sorta collector

And you forgot to check yourz blinker fluid levels, and rotate yor brake rotors every 10K or so.

hey, what year Z do you have??? the Z31 was known for steering rack problems in a few and then others were fine. anyways, glad to hear your alright.

don't forget to grease up the flux capacitor...

I have a 90 twin turbo.

whoops i mean 91 twin turbo, my other z was a 90

yah my steering rack is still messed up but dont mess up as much as the snow is gone so i guess well see how long it holds up until i get $$$ to get a reman unit.

while youre checking the johnson rods you should take a look at the whorefore, and while you under there why not cross drill your break lines for better cooling

(btw if you dont know whats a whorefor give me $50 bucks and ill show you

Alright I think we've fucked with him enough.

VX if you are still in need of bushings, you can get the Energy suspension package for $150 bucks and just replace them all at the same time.
