Eclipse over the tib. Personally im a ford fan so ford all the way. The tibby doesn't have the aftermarket as the eclipse and just doesn't compete performance wise. But just comparing the 2 cars, i like the aftermarket support the eclipse has, and IMO, the looks of the focus are just tacky, the focus is a very fun car to drive though, the suspension beats the hell out of the eclipse, however, in straight line performance, the V6 in the eclipse beats the focus. Winner = Eclipse BUT, im going to say the tiburon beats the Eclipse. The interior and ride quality of the tiburon rapes the eclipse. the eclipse is boring inside, and you can hear shakes and rattles all over. the 2.7 in the hyundai with a supercharger is capable of pushing 400HP, on stock internals [Supercharged], while the eclipse engine can barely handle the same power the Tibbys can. I'm also going to give Hyundai the reliability edge, Mitsubishi isnt exactly known for its top notch reliability, but at least Hyundais has been getting better. Winner = Tiburon kman10587 04-23-2005, 06:21 PM I'd go with the Focus SVT. The Eclipse and Tiburon are both cheaply made, and the handling suffers due to being nose-heavy from having those V6's in there. I don't really care how much power they can make, since handling is my main priority. If you care about straight-line performance mostly, then go with one of the other two. drdisque 04-24-2005, 02:54 AM well, the eclipse isn't an import either, its made in Illinois and is only sold in North America KahunaB14 04-25-2005, 02:18 PM SVT will edge a Tiburon in the straight line and spank both badly on the track. Plus you can get one (if you can still find them) for 16k.
