help, fluid coming out of exhaust

I have a 89 240sx and when I started my car yesterday I noticed that fluid was coming out of the exhaust. I wasn't sure if it was water or oil, but it usually spurts the fluid when my car idle's weirdly (it shakes and feels like it's about to stall). Also noticed that a little white smoke comes out and a really strong smell is produced. I have a KA24E engine and it has about 123,000 miles on it. My engine never really had any major problems and I was just wondering if this is a serious problem or something that could be ignored for a couple of months.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Thanks AWDSR20. The water does go away, but there's still a little white smoke, and the car continues to idle funny. Is there any way to stop my car from eating to much oil?

I thought burning oil gave you blue smoke?

yea... i thought it did too. when the piston rings get fried the oil burns and you see blue smoke comin out of ur exhaust.

i think white is something about your headers. not too sure exactly where...

you have a blown head gasket
the white smoke is probably coolant.
smells like nasty sugar mixed with exhaust right?

blue or black smoke is oil burning
its usually blue if its just burning oil from being old but its black if its burning oil from a blown piston ring
