I have water leaking into the passenger side (UK model so LHS!) footwell and glovebox, but only when I wash the car. I think this may be due to pollen filter seal problem? How can I fix this and stop the water coming in - other than stop washing the car!!

Thanks,

Iain

I have a 99' Passat and have recently noticed that I too, have a leak when washing the car. However, mine has begun leaking when it rains. Passenger side roof moulding (upper corner windshield). Headliner gets damp, I think it may be a seal on the windsheild. I am going to have my dealer check if no luck here. Let me know what you find out.

If you have a sunroof. the drains commonly clog.

Is this a repair I can make myself? If so, where are the drain plugs located? Are there any special tools needed?

I beleive there are two in the front & two in the rear. The fronts are easy & drain down by the front door hinges, the rears are dificult & can involve removing the rear bumper. Search this site:
