Hello,
I am trying to replace the rearend on my 96 jeep grand cherokee, I found a rearend form another 96JGC the guy tells me it has the same gear ratio as mine (3.73) but the GVWR (4th digit in VIN) on his is E (3001-4000lbs) and mine is G (5001-6000lbs) is this an indication the gears inside are not 3.73? Or is there a different problem with this difference in GVWR. THANKS!!!!!!

the jeep you are getting the rear end from came with 3.73 gears, dana 35.it was built with the trailer prep package so thats why it got 3.73s.same deal with yours
