Stock 1/4 times on s13 &s14? travis712 04-17-2005, 10:45 PM orestes 04-17-2005, 10:49 PM i think like 16.9 or so? easily into the 17s though with worse and worse wear and tear. travis712 04-17-2005, 10:52 PM Fastest.Responce.Ever? Yea thats a pretty shitty time, owell. I was pretty set on a 240 but some other cars are for more appealing so far lol. Owell, thanks dude for the fast responce. orestes 04-17-2005, 10:55 PM well you have to understand completely stock 240's are completley crippled. 2.4 L DOHC SHOULD do a lot better than that, but for starters stock exhaust is terrible. if you have no LSD thats an issue too.(some do though) with just intake and exhaust i have seen low 15's. but stock car does not take well to the 1/4, it is all low end torque. but understand the KA is a good engine, like i said 2.4 L DOHC is pretty beefy. monooxide 04-17-2005, 11:00 PM Im running my car in the 1/4 this coming weekend :D!! Also ordering exhaust tomorrow!! travis712 04-17-2005, 11:02 PM Yea I understand the KA is a good engine. I used to frequent here a lot but drifted away from the beloved 240sx's. I dunno though, I'm thinking about getting some American Muscle haha. Im young, so money is key, you know how that goes. The KA has a lot of potential though, soo.. Chuki_breath 04-17-2005, 11:02 PM really you think its that high?? hmm i guess it could be. LSD does make a huge difference. But keep in mind 3 grand could easily make the car a better than average contender on the street. travis712 04-17-2005, 11:05 PM really you think its that high?? hmm i guess it could be. LSD does make a huge difference. But keep in mind 3 grand could easily make the car a better than average contender on the street. Maybe with the wear and tear on the stock parts, it could be correct. Thing is, I've been looking into the 3rd and early 4th gen Camaros. Anyone know how the MPG is with the KA24de engines? Manual tranny. orestes 04-17-2005, 11:11 PM i dunno i could easily be wrong that is just the number that i remembered seeing somewhere for stock i cant find it now. where the hell is a site that just lists hella stock 1/4 times... i swear i cant find one. Chuki_breath 04-17-2005, 11:21 PM bah screw those beaters. My auto 240 beats those ol trailor park camaro's. They do pull however in the higher gears. No one ever tries to race me in my 5 speed though...i guess cuz shes a stocker. I guess my rims and exhaust attract the "racers" on my auto. the mpg isnt bad for the age of the engine. I fill up twice a week. I only put in 10 dollars at a time though. WHich isnt much gas now a days. So that may give you an idea. I would have to estimate that my car gets a good 50 miles + on a quarter tank judging by distances from my house to work. Keep in mind my guesstimate is not entirely accurate, i just rounded to about 20 (highway miles) i spend on the road to get to work and another 20 to get back. On average i can usually get one round trip then half of another on a quarter tank. So if you work close and just do alot of around town driving you shouldnt have to big of a worry. Plus new plugs, air filter, etc can help give some life back to the engine as far as gas mileage. I wouldnt worry to much about the gas thing if its got you wondering alot. nissanfanatic 04-17-2005, 11:35 PM Camaros aren't exactly street machines either without a little work. Most don't run much faster than a 5spd S13 or S14. I'm set on the fact that most equally priced cars start on a level playing field anymore. wonword 04-17-2005, 11:35 PM I have a Altima with a KA24DE and have gotten two response on the same question, 16.1 and 16.4. I got both those times from websites, one a Mopar website with a bunch of cars w/ 1/4 mile times of every make. But the 1st gen altima runs low 16's so my guess is that the 240 runs similiar. But I have a OBX header and Greddy exhaust coming this week!!!EXCITED travis712 04-17-2005, 11:37 PM Lol, I don't know, for what they are, Camaros are really well priced for the perfomance the 350 v8's give. And I still like 240sx's, but don't want to be considered rice. My dad is all american, redneck, chevy wipped lol. The 240sx's are the least ricest imports I can think of, and way better then any honda, lol. I still have a little while to go until I purchase a car so I'm not sweating yet, Im a procrastinater, I'll sweat at the last minute ;) lol. november-ice 04-17-2005, 11:48 PM www.cars.com the reserch section will give hp mpg and all the good stuff and ive seen that 1/4 page to...some were travis712 04-17-2005, 11:57 PM http://www.eurotuned.com/0-60.htm very good website. Has like a million damn cars too. Says the cars stack up pretty equally. Then it comes down to what performance parts are cheaper, and the dreaded insurance thoughts(scary already). And also the performance parts " bang for the buck" situation. Hit_N_Run-player 04-18-2005, 12:00 AM well i wouldnt exactly call the 350 a super performance engine either. Im looking at my chevy handbook here, and the years go from 1972-1979. In 1972 the H code 350 put out only 165HP. IN 1973 the H code 350 put out only 145HP. Im not going to list them all, but i wouldnt exactly call the 350 the super car engine.... Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
