When my mom was looking to buy a car, she was thinking about a C5 and when she went to the chevy dealer near our house, he said that they cannot let people test drive them because of the fact that they dont want people adding miles on the car, and because of how expensive the car is...

Reason why to never use nitrous. I have always been against it. What a great way to destroy your car. That guy doesn't deserve the Vette.

That's bullshit, the dealer not you. All you have to do is say "fine, if I can't test drive it. Then I won't buy it. I'll take my $50,000 someplace that will let me test drive."

Watch how fast they go "Oh, well... We might make an exception."


Dealerships, usually have a car set aside for Test Drives. Vette's and Vipers I'm damn sure of. Anything more expensive you might have to put down a hefty deposit on one.

They don't want people to test drive them because to many people just want to joy ride, but if you're ready to drop 50k then you can always drive one.

Thats why you don't use nitrous RIGHT OFF THE LINE. Do nitrous right and it just as powerful as an expensive turbo/blower setup at a fraction of the cost. Temporary sure but if you're just running 1/4s who cares.

nitrous is the easy way out for instant boost. I don't encourage it. That really sucks for the owner but give the z06 some respect... tune it right... if you spent that much buying it... don't take shortcuts... get some parts for natural aspiration.

It's just people being stupid, a trait that covers all sections of automotive endevours and humanity in general. They hit it right off the line, the engine can't get enough air, the spark hits that big influx of nitrous and boom. He should have saved it for further down the track. Unless of course he half-assed his whole system in which case it would blow up no matter where he was.

That was just some junior rep uptight piece of shit, go to a real dealer and they will let you drive it if they know you are interested.

A guy I know runs a 4.3l vortech Blazer with headers, electric water pump, and maybe an intake. He runs a dry 125 shot right off the line and cuts 12.7s.

The guy in the Mustang just got lucky with some loser salesman who was desperate for a sale, and if he believed the guy about him not buying one simply because there wasn't the one he wanted on the lot then he's dumb as dirt, obviously he just wanted to joy ride because he could have ordered one in any color.
