1999 Jeep Speedo/tach not on

The tachometer, speedo, and odometer recently stopped working. All else seems ok. No engine lights etc.
I checked fuses but there isn't one that specifically controls speedo/tach. The other gauges work ok. I checked all fuses under hood, (the ones in the box by the battery)and left kick panel.

My first attempts to talk with service advisors at local jeep dealerships suggested the speed sensor may be bad. But one said that the tachometer isn't associated with that so he was not sure. They said a computor check might show the error, but you know that costs $70+ just to look.

Before this problem, recently, it was in the shop for faulty heater blower motor - intermittently working. They replaced blower control module because of burnt connection. And...my son jumpstarted it about the same time it stopped working. Not sure why the battery went dead. Connections were recently cleaned and tightened but I think i will do it again.
Thanks in advance for any help, Mike

Are the needles on the guages on the wrong side of the little peg that stops it at zero? This sometimes happens when the battery goes dead.If they are ,its easy to fix. With the key off, press and hold the button that resets the trip odometer.keep holding it and turn the key on but do not start the engine. After a few seconds the guages should start to move.then let go of the button and you are back in business.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind next time it happens. When i disconnected the Bat. Gnd., it fixed the problem.

Thank you much.... I realize this is a year old but maybe your here still.

My battery was dead this morning and while trying to start it my tach/speedo needles went all the way around. This precedure worked first time.
