Electrical Problem

After rushing through an aftermarket interior lighting installation, and doing a poor job at it, I accidentally sent a decent charge through the interior fuse box and seem to have tripped something major. I've checked all the fuses however none are damaged. I've lost most power to the inside of the vehicle. The radio, interior lamps, door locks, and even the warning buzzer are out of operation. Is there something I've missed. I have a 2000 Focus ZTS.

You checked both fuse boxes, right? I guess you could have put a surge through all of that equipment and fried it...what exactly were you doing, and what happened?

I have checked both fuse boxes. I was trying to hook up some LED lights, the positive in the fuse and the negative to one of the bolts to the bracket, and when I flipped the switch, just about everything went out. Its everything hooked up to the inside fuse panel, ie horn, turn signals, radio, door locks, map lights, and warning buzzer. I'm guessing something that handles power for the box got tripped. I'm just trying to figure out what it is.

Hmmm...I would draw the same conclusion that you did, but I don't know what there is that would actually trip...I'm really sorry that I can't help you any further...hopefully someone else can.

Well, I found it!!!!! Turns out that there are 2 fuses in the main fuse box under the hood that are for the main electrical current. I checked one, but overlooked the other. Sure enough, one was fried. I replaced it and Voila. Thanks for your help.
