Car Diedxxxjayluvxxx 04-16-2005, 10:20 AM My car died out on me the other day. i ran some test and im gettin no spark and smell no gas anywhere, which mean no fuel either. anyone know what could have caused this theFREAKnasty82 04-18-2005, 12:54 AM you could have a bad ASD (Automatic ShutDown) relay. If the relay's ok, then something else tripped the relay. xxxjayluvxxx 04-18-2005, 04:03 PM My crank and cam sensors where bad so i replaced them, and now im getting a code 42 stating that something is wrong with the autoshutdown relay. theFREAKnasty82 04-20-2005, 01:12 AM switch out your ASD relay and see what goes, could be a bad relay. xxxjayluvxxx 04-20-2005, 08:00 PM i tested the relay and the thing is GOOD. i was told by a shop it could be my timing belt. TRUE? rksnc 04-20-2005, 09:48 PM NO...the timing belt will not cause that code. It could be wiring with the relay and not the relay itself. Have you clear the codes and see if they come back. xxxjayluvxxx 04-21-2005, 05:29 AM i cant e ven get tthe car out of my drive way so i cant clear the codes. a shop is comming to pick the car up friday. ive had enough rksnc 04-21-2005, 07:08 PM I hear ya. They can be tough theses days. I thought that if you had the ablilty to read codes then you would be able to erase the codes. I don't what you are using to read the codes. With my machine I can read and erase and view data stream. rbeckman 02-25-2006, 05:16 PM did you get your car fixed and what was the problem my car is doing the same thing and I cant figure out the problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
