car hesitates when wettipota 04-15-2005, 06:38 PM im looking at a Z but the owner told me that when it rains or there is a lot of moisture in the air the car hesitates and cannot be taken past 2000 rpm. does anyone knwo what this is or has had this problem before? k3smostwanted 04-15-2005, 07:04 PM im looking at a Z but the owner told me that when it rains or there is a lot of moisture in the air the car hesitates and cannot be taken past 2000 rpm. does anyone knwo what this is or has had this problem before? sounds like a sensor problem... -AAC valve/FICD solenoid (which is part of the AAC valve) -MAF sensor -TPS sensor -air regulator (not a sensor but can really screw up stuff like that) if i were to diagnose it from what you have said already, i would put my money on the AAC valve/FICD solenoid. my second guess would be the TPS sensor. not a huge deal...just a matter of finding the problem. if it was taken to a nissan dealership, 9 times out of 10 they will charge you an hours labor and tell you exactly what the problem is. might be worth it...instead of trying to daignose it yourself and end up being wrong. ExTrEmEDrIfT 04-16-2005, 01:37 AM lol MAF?? tipota 04-16-2005, 10:29 AM does anyone have a technical explanation on whats happening? also about the sensor, easy to fix yourself and is the part cheap? ExTrEmEDrIfT 04-16-2005, 12:49 PM part is prob new like $50 maybe more idk neva bought one new and yah its easy as hell to replace its on your intake after the air cleaner .. run ecu codes to see if the maf comes up.. k3smostwanted 04-16-2005, 01:09 PM does anyone have a technical explanation on whats happening? also about the sensor, easy to fix yourself and is the part cheap? a technical explanation would be that a sensor is getting moist and not reading information accurately in result sending wrong information to the ECU. if the ECU gets the wrong information, it does somthing wrong in return but it thinks it is right. a check engine light may not come on if the sensor is sending the wrong information. a check engine light usually only comes on when a sensor is completely dead and the ECU senses that it is not getting a response from that sensor. and no codes will be thrown if there is no check engine light. and the price depends on teh sensor and whether you want a brand new or used... MAF - used ~$100......brand new ~$250-$350 AAC Valve - used ~$50-$100.......brand new ~$300 TPS Sensor - dont buy a used one.......brand new ~$20 Air Regulator - i have never seen a used one.....brand new ~$100 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
