OK I have a 96 F150. The other day I accidently broke the drivers side interior door handle off. I'm trying desperately to put the new handle on but its not working. there's only 1 screw......and noway I can screw this up but.....I get it on and it doesn't work. HELP??????????? My poor old truck misses its handle almost as much as I do! Any sites or suggestions are MUCH appreciated!

Make sure the linkage rod is attached to the latch in the door. The rod may also be bent and not tripping the latch.

thanks, I ended up taking it up to the local gas station (the good old kind where they do tires & clean your windshield when you're getting gas) he had the same problem as I did. Turns out the spring & linkage needed a little oil. Wasn't even my fault for breaking it :) I was charged a grand total of $7.50. I love small towns and mom & pop gas stations!

Hooray for SERVICE STATIONS. The one I worked in during my youth doesn't even have a garage door now. Plenty of pop and candy tho. argh.

Is this fairly common? The other day at work, I went to open our delivery trucks door, no more force than usual, and It just broke right off. The manager was trying to make me feel guilty like I did it on purpose...
