i was looking at talon's and saw some with like 100k miles is that good car? some had rebuilt engines and some didnt...Before I lost an oil cooler line, my 90' Talon TSi went 175,000+. My second Talon, a 92 TSi AWD, was in the 120s when I sold it (not exactly a "family car"). I would have no problems purchasing a 100,000+ mile DSM again. Engine/Transmission rebuilt all the better.

If they haven't had a recent timing belt (and associated parts) replaced, you will want to do that. It's an interference engine. When the timing belt breaks, you will more then likely break/bend valves. They are great little cars, especially the turbo. The transmission syncros also have a tendency to wear out and grind, so I'd want to take it for a test drive before purchasing it.

I particurly liked the DSMs when I had one because of ClubDSL (dsm.org) and vfaq.com. Just about anything signifiant that involved the car was either documented visually for repaired, or discussed in the mailing list.

100K miles is alot!!! I bought mine w/ 60K and I swear it looks brand new. Keep looking until u find 1 w/lower mileage.
