Loud thumping sound coming from the front end when making an extreme turn either right or left. Does not happen when the car is going straight, or when the brakes are applied or even when making a short turn. Only happens on extreme turns, like when parking into a parking spot. Mechanic rules out drive axle, motor mounts and sway bar bushings. Can't guarantee fix with control arm swap. Anyone having or had the same issues. Very annoying problem. Thanks

If the sound can be recreated and is loud, I have a hard time believing that the mechanic can only guess on what is wrong. Get a second opinion.

Had the same problem on my 97. Found it be a loose bolt that holds A frame to frame on right side. Hope this helps
