Hey ya'll

I hope everyone's doing well. Here's a question that I just can't seem to find an answer to. When I bought my 96 Z, the lady had lost the keyfob to it. She purchased a new fob, but hadn't programmed it yet. Does anyone know the sequence? I've searched the forum and the whole damn internet, but can't find anything. I could go to the dealer, but truth is, I'm just a cheap bastard. Can anyone help?

Have you checked the owners manual. I think it maybe in there. Or you could just ASK the dealerships service writer, how do I program my key fob to my car? Thats what I do and it ussually doesnt cost anything to ask.

yah the dealer is usually helpful when asking questions its not that hard ive seen it done you have to turn on the car and off nd crap like that using the key you have then the fob takes like 10 mins to program

Aww shucks. I was hoping someone might know this one off of the top of their heads.

Yeah, this info. is definately not in the owners manual. That would take too much easy money from the dealer. I went to my local dealer once, and at first they tried to say that no Zs ever had keyless entry. I convinced him otherwise, but he didn't didn't remember the programming code. Of course that means he would have to run it through the shop and charge a $75 diagnostic charge. There is another dealer in our area, but they don't give out ANY info for free. All they will ever say is "just go to service write up and we'll get it in shortly." Sheez. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet on this one.

BTW, I'll make a point to find out the code when I do take in, and post it here. I am totally mystified by the fact that the procedure isn't posted somewhere else on the Internet. Seems like it is for every other car in existence.
