I was just blessed/cursed with an 89 Metro for free. The head has some bent valves. Does anyone know if it's better/cheaper to have the head rebuilt or just go to the JY and get another one? I've heard that the heads on these 3 cyls are notorious for having problems. The car is rust free and in great shape. I figure if I have to put a few bucks into it, I'm way ahead of the game with todays gas prices. Thanks.

junk yards are a good place to start but valves are a cheap easy thing to replace

I had my head done at a machine shop for right about $100.00 I have not priced one from the bone yard but if you have the head done you know what you have, and arent getting an unknown quality head
