adding a k&n air filter to a 2000 bonnie ssei and unrelated gas cap problemBonnielove 04-12-2005, 09:38 PM hey guys, im just starting out working on cars on my own and i just bought a K&N filter for my 2000 bonnie.. What a pain it was to begin with to find one of these for a bonnie they only make em for 2 years i believe in the 2000 series of cars. I had to get it ordered from the factory and at last its here. Im gonna drop it in tomorrow, do you guys have any tips or are any of you using a K&n rite now in your bonnie? the only thing im worried about is installing the gasket properly and having a good seal everything else should be cake. anybody got input on the performance boost ? P.S. on an unrelated note every now and again the check gas cap message flashes on the drivers display nothing is wrong with the gas cap it just bugs out every now and again and then goes away anybody else gettin that trouble? Bonnielove 04-13-2005, 03:41 PM I installed the filter shes flying great upgrade to do id recomment it to anybody.. still have the gas cap problem :( any input on that? GTP Dad 04-13-2005, 06:45 PM Make sure you get the cap on tightly when you fill the tank. It will cause an intermittant light. If it continues you may want to replace it since the seal may have gone bad and is allowing air to enter the tank causing the light to come on. Bonnielove 04-13-2005, 11:12 PM Is there any potential damage from a bad seal or is it that its just going to give me that anoying light GTP Dad 04-14-2005, 06:26 AM No damage just the annoying light. 92bonny 04-26-2005, 09:35 PM Water can get in a lot easier (condesation, car wash etc.) Just a thought. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
