I thought the LS6 was a corvette engine?

A mag did a flow comparison between a stock LS1, LS6, and the 6.0 truck intake and apparently the truck version flowed the best. This is mainly due to the limited hood clearance in the f-car and vette so the LSx versions are compromised to fit as opposed to the trucks where that limitation is non-existent.

Since you brought it up, I thought I'd ask: does the new GTO fall into the F-body category?

If you mean as far as the intake the GTO uses.....then yes, it uses the same as the F and Y body cars.
