I have a 1200 watt amp and 2 12" rockford fosgate subs....i was looking for ideas on where to put the amp so its out of the way and how to set up the subs so they are out of the way and i can still use the back of the jeep for storage if needed.....

If you have a Grand Cherokee, both seats fold to lay down. I would mount the amp under the driver side rear seat. Plenty of room for an amp that size. The tire tools are mounted under the pass. side rear seat.

Drivers side is where the factory Infinity amp is mounted. Seems to work fine for my Profile amp as well.

already tried that the amp is too long and slightly too wide.....any other ideas....???

Hmm...The dash is out. That I'm sure of. There is a possibility you may have room inside the rear interior panel on the driver's side...behind the spare tire. I would put a speaker grille or two over it for ventalation. With 2 12"s though, you're not going to have any storage room.

Especially Foagate subs. You should have looked into a sub that's got a more vehicle friendly design. I like Directed Audio subs because they'll work well in extremely small sealed enclosures. You could easily stuff 2 12" in a 1 to 1.25cu/ft box.

Hmmm, perhaps if you re-locate the tire tools and mount in under the pass. rear seat? Yeah, your going to need a box for those subs, and that will take up some room, in that case you could just mount the amp to the box.

I second that idea....thats what i have....mount the amp to the box. Plus it wont be stuffed up under the seat waiting to overheat.

see the thing is i want the amp stationary out of the way and the box or boxes mobile so i can stack or move around for cargo room....
