I have a 93 Ford Probe, and i have been trying to get it to start for about the past 6 months. ive replaced the distributor, and still no luck, so i took it to a shop, and they said that it was one tooth off in the timing, but thats not enough to keep it from starting, upon further investigation, they have told me that they found a spun journal in the crankshaft causing it to keep throwing itself out of time, because now they say that somehow it is 180 out after starting it. even though it is impossible to put the disty in 180 out. they said it ran for a few minutes then quit. and i may possible need a new head. any comments, or solutions, or feedback.

personally i i were u instead of spending all this money on engine work, i would have just bought a jdm engine, either for the 4banger of the v6. There pretty cheap for around 800 for either 2. The site is www.japandomesticmotor.com, the have the jdm 4banger that puts out 180hp and the klze that puts out 210. That's my 2cents instead of paying hundred to rip apart your engine.

Im told now that i have a spun journal in the crankshaft, and i have to get a new head. total for the work finding the problem, and to replace the old with the new is $1300.

best bet at that price is just get the klze and with install will come around that. You get way more Hp and a way newer engine, unless you still want the car go with the KLZE.
