i was wondering if someone knows about this, and can help me solve this problem. i own a 92 slc/vr6 and when the temperature gets hot, i get a coolant smoke/mist out of the air vents. i thought it might be the heater core but im not sure, so i bypassed the hoses going into the fire wall, as a temporary fix. now its running from the (aux) water pump back into the top of the engine (was that a good idea?) .no more smoke for now but, i know the problem still exists. any input would be greatly appreciated.

VW heater cores are poor, bypassing is an okay fix until it gets cold outside.

I just wanted to say thank you for replying to my thread. I feel a lil more comfortable now. Although the weather is good here, it is still first on the list to get fixed.
