Dear All,

I am in process of bypassing the infinity amp (blown) in my 1996 JGC ltd
As there are more wires going into the input then there are in the output, I would be grateful to anyone that can give me an idea of which wire is which..WJJEEP.com is helpful but only gives 1999 JGC and on..

Many thanks

Dave

I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH WIRES!!!
I'm trying to hook up my AIWA CD player, my stereo was stolen, cut wires, so I'm trying to go by the above guide. I've got a 97 JGC Laredo, and coming from my headunit I have:

Front Left (+) White
Front Left (-) White/Black
Rear Left (+)Green
Rear Left (-)Green/Black
Front Right (+)Gray
Front Right (-)Gray/Black
Rear Right (+)Violet
Rear Right (-)Violet/Black

Red - To Power (ACC)
Yellow - To Battery Direct (Back UP) Fuse 15A
Black - Ground
Blue - To Relay Control

Now, my blue wire is hooked up to a little fuse right now, and the way I hooked it up, everything came on, but there was no sound and I had a couple extra wires... new to the Jeep world, please help!!!

The back right speaker on my '99 JGC usually works great for a little while before it starts distorting, and sounding like a ripped speaker. (I've taken it out and swapped it with the left speaker without any improvement).
Am I looking at a bad or blown Infinity AMP?
What are my options in fixing this?
Not ...... Buy a replacement from the dealer.
Maybe .. Will a used one work or is there some security code that must be programed into them like the Mitsubishieeeeseses's?
Idea ..... Put in an after marked AMP following the wiring diagrams from this post?

From your description it sound slike the amp might be overheating. I am not sure about the code thing, Your WJ might require it.
