Leak at oil filter housingCaribbean ZJ 04-11-2005, 08:56 AM Yep Me again. There is a leak where the oil filter Housing attaches to the engine block. Could silicone sealer fix this. I could see old silicone hanging down from there so it seems this was what was used before. Someone musta had this before. THANKS glass 04-11-2005, 01:28 PM hi grenada, hope your island has recovered from the hurricane by now , the oil filter housing that attaches to the engine should have a prefabricated seal under it , not just silicone , had mine replaced at a garage , was basicaly a unbolt , replace seal , rebolt , I looked at my engine , the 4.0 6 cyl 94 gc limited , it is attached to the engine with a single 3/8-1/2. or metric hex head bolt in the center of the housing , should be realtivly easy to replace the internal seal , if you can get one delivered Caribbean ZJ 04-12-2005, 08:14 AM Thanks. Slowly recovering. This seal your talking about, is it an O-Ring. Is it a dealer only item. I need to fix soon. Dale Aeppli 04-12-2005, 06:15 PM Thanks. Slowly recovering.
