Novas are cool. Have fun with it, but don't get too hung up on restoring it.

You didn't say what year.

You know they've about run out of '55-'57 Chevy two doors to fix up, so four doors are starting to appear at shows; people are putting lots of money in them.

My son has a '63 Chevy II 100 two-door post with a 388 small block, disc brakes, show paint, etc. It's going up in value at least $1000 a year.

The only four door Novas that are really cool right now are WAGONS. Last year was '67.

Your car's time will come, but it will probably take a decade. So put a quality production paint job on it, make sure the running gear is in good shape, put in some good tunes and maybe rims and tires and ENJOY.

By the way, you can hardly give away a two-door sedan in Australia. The high performance cars all come in four-door versions with big engines, wings, etc. And in the U.S. BMW 3-series, Datsun 510 and Honda rodders think four doors are perfectly acceptable and equivalent!

It is a 1968 - I think if you wanted to you could find one fairly easy, so I don't think it rare but it's been in the family and I thought it would be nice to have it running and looking good again.

There's an old saying, "Anybody can have a new Rolls-Royce, all it takes is money. NOT everybody can have a '32 Ford, '57 T-Bird (or '68 Nova four-door) because you have to DIG them. I'm always more impressed by a clean older car. So put a few hundred into it as I outlined above. It'll be simple and cheap to keep running. Contact Rudy at Modern Performance Classics in Orange, California (area code 714 information)for a catalog and advice on parts and upgrades. Happy motoring!!!

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to see if I can get a catalog for it.
