The interior will be two tone red and white. The Gallardo is pianted with Tamiya TS-53 Deep Metallic Blue, the wheels wheel be repainted aluminum. This car will have a blue and white interior. I've included pics of the Gallardo before and after polish. I would have normally stripped the paint off the car and started over but I was convinced by Veyron and CADguy that it could be saved. It took some work but I'm happy with the results and happy to report that I didn't burn through any edges anywhere. The blue paint is difficult to photograph. It looks like the paint is thin on the edges and panel lines but in person it doesn't look that way. It must just be the effects light has on the paint. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560ericmurc1-med.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560ericmurc3-med.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560ericmurc2-med.jpg Gallardo before polish: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560ericgall1.jpg After polish: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1536.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1535.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1538.jpg Bas Carwash 04-09-2005, 12:55 PM Both are lookin very good. Paintjobs seem to be great. Good luck! Veyron 04-09-2005, 01:30 PM Yummy! Great polishing work! ol' dude 04-09-2005, 03:24 PM Looking good!! Keep us posted on the progress!! 99civichic 04-09-2005, 03:35 PM What color is that Gallardo? And what polish do you use?? Amazon 04-09-2005, 05:02 PM What color is that Gallardo? And what polish do you use?? He writes TS-53 ( tamiya) BTW that paint looks 100% right on that car! Keep up the nice work  CADguy 04-09-2005, 10:22 PM Awesome colors on both! Great work saving that Gallardo paintjob. I can't wait to see these 2 come toghether. Alfa 147 04-09-2005, 10:37 PM They look awesome, great paintjobs on both of them :sunglasse mach1_2003 04-09-2005, 11:20 PM Thanks everybody. 99civichic, I use a MicroMesh polishing set (various grades of polishing cloth's, from course to extra fine) followed by 3M liquid polish and then Scratch X or Tamiya Finish Compound. ZoomZoomMX-5 04-09-2005, 11:42 PM Kewl! :naughty: Great color choices. Nice work on the Gallardo paint, that's a very hard color to photograph to see the color and to buff out. RallyRaider 04-10-2005, 07:15 AM I see no "before" pictures, they all look great! Effect of the blue on the Gallardo is strange how it picks up the edges like that, kinda cool. mach1_2003 04-10-2005, 11:51 PM Some of the Murcie updates: I changed my mind on the interior colors and decided on two tone red and black instead of red and white. I felt that the darker colors would be a better overall match with the gunmetal wheels. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1540.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1542.jpg And the finshed wheels with brakes added and the calipers painted yellow. That should look decent on a red car. (I destroyed one of the center hub decals with micro-sol, but I'll find a replacement before it's complete) http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1544.jpg Thanks for looking..... rx7king 04-11-2005, 01:34 AM great progress, interior and wheels look good, cant wait for the next update ol' dude 04-11-2005, 08:34 AM Looks to be coming along pretty good!! Awesome interior!! DJPaul 04-11-2005, 11:31 AM Amazing. Very well done. Ferrari TR 04-11-2005, 04:49 PM Nice progress! You ACME boys sure crank out the sports cars. I don't mind being the odd one in a mostly low and muscle club... :p mach1_2003 04-11-2005, 05:53 PM Thanks everyone for the compliments, more progress soon. Nice progress! You ACME boys sure crank out the sports cars. I don't mind being the odd one in a mostly low and muscle club... :p Thanks Ferrari TR, Yeah we build some sports cars but I love those muscle cars too. I build a pretty wide variety of cars from sports/exotics, race cars and my share of those 60's and 70's muscle cars too. About half the cars in my display case are muscle cars. mach1_2003 04-15-2005, 08:31 AM One last update on the Murcie. The black trim and rear hatch has been painted as seen in these pics. At this time the engine is in, body is on and the wheels have been mounted. Mounting the wheels was the worst part for me because the kit mounting points were terrible. Front wheels tracked too narrow, back wheels set too far forward and the entire car sit too high. All fixed now.... completed pics coming in a couple days. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1545.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1547.jpg ZoomZoomMX-5 04-15-2005, 08:39 AM That color is absolutely perfect on a Murcielago. :sunglasse p9o1r1sche 04-15-2005, 09:09 AM Really looking good there, Eric. mach1_2003 04-20-2005, 09:50 PM Well, with the Murcielago finished I've turned all my attention to the Gallardo. I have the chassis assembled, interior is done and I'm working on the glass parts as you can see the tape holding the windshield in place while the glue sets. The interior is testors Blue Angel Blue and Light Camo Gray. The wheels are stock wheels repainted with Tamiya Gloss Aluminum Spray and then cleared. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1565.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1571.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3346/99560000_1569.jpg Merkava 04-20-2005, 09:53 PM Wow! Sweet color combination! Those colors accent/compliment the blue body just perfectly. And, yeah, the Murci looks badass too. :sunglasse Wheelin75r 04-21-2005, 04:41 AM That third pic shows the color perfectly! Nice work! tonioseven 04-21-2005, 09:38 AM That blue is killer!!:sunglasse Jaimenew 04-21-2005, 10:38 AM Very good preview pictures, I´m sure that finished model is going to be awesome DJPaul 04-21-2005, 11:05 AM very well done Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
