Welcome to AF, however since this has absolutely nothing to do with a street racing story...perhaps it should have been posted in the non-specific racing sub-forum...

For me, Techno (prefrably Trance and Hard House for racing), decent rock/alt rock (Stained, Stabbing Westward, NIN) or punk (Pennywise-Fuck Authority kicks ass, so does some older Offspring). I have about ten CDs of music I consider bad ass "race Music" with about 20-25 songs a piece, so really anything.

Aww come on man, now you're just being mean

It just depends on what gets you pumped up, either a strong base line or that other crap :p

But I have to say, there's nothing more gangsta than racing to something like beethoven or chopin.

During a race i dont listen to music, the sound of the engine is all i want or need to hear.

Cruising...pretty much whatever i'm in the mood for, could be anything from AC/DC and Audioslave to Slipknot or Tupac.

Lately i've been listening to a lot of Slipknot's vol. 3

If Im working out, then I like rap. THe problem with being in college is that every party plays the same damn rap, the shitty kind. The only rappers I go outa my way to listen to are JayZ, Snoop, Em, and 50 and Flip (gotta represent the dirty south Bay Area to the DF Dub, 817 boys). Otherwise, I feel most moidern rap is prrof that anyone can talk into a microphone and became famous. WTF does knuck if you buck mean anywyas? Also, Motley Crue is good. I gotta CD where the first song is DJ Irene-Acid Eaterz, followed by Dr. Feel Good. Kinda eclectic.

That man could play with the best of them. As for my cruising music 2pac,Cradle of Filth,3-6mafia,Other rock. Depends on the day. like today it is sunny,70, nice breeze. go out take the t-tops off and blast tupac.

I listen to hours and hours of Eurobeat all the time, be it when I'm doubling the speed limit or when I'm just cruising. That music is great for driving. Keeps you awake, too.

Oh, and "Revv Me Up" by Jasper McVain is a killer song to cruise to. You can get it for free at www.venturebros.com by clicking the "Free Gift" graphic.

3 days grace? metal? bahahahah........i mean i have no problem with them but they definitley aren't metal.

But metal itself it actually becoming more popular...actually getting more recognition on the radio, etc. Killswitch engage, Atreyu, Black Label Society....

Guys, guys, GUYS, he said good "street" music.

Metallica is street? NO!
Damageplan street? NEGATORY
Cradle of F.. NO!

you gotta play that hardcore rap son. like nelly and chingy.

but seriously, some of you guys listen to crap music, no offense. Trina? Atreyu? They suck ass.

I'm also tired of people who use tupac as the be all and end all of all hip hop. There are better artists.

Well since i can't stand the BS screaching that they're calling hip hop nowadays, i listen to old school stuff like E40, Tupac, KRS-1....

And i agree with Trina sucking, but Atreyu is awesome music to get pumped up with. But Slipknots vol 3 seems to have the best songs for getting pumped up to, definately going on the drag cars next video- Duality, Pulse of the Maggots, Before I Forget.

I love listening to rap, but the only tupac I ever listen to is california love, thug mansion, or still ballin otherwise I feel his other songs suck.

Rap you actually want to listen to is WU-Tang, Method Man solo, Brotha Lynch . Any old popular hip-hop song is good too "This is how we do it" Montell Jordan. Bone Thugs N Harmony is good all the time as well.

Rock wise Range against the Machine.

Trance music kinda keeps you focused so it works great when cruisin'.
Orbital "HAlycon+On+On" is a great song if don't have it already.

What exactly is defined as "street" anyway? There isn't anything really specifically made for street as it is. No single artist (according to me) has ever come out with a record dedicated entirely to the "streets". So really there isn't anything that defines street at all. He asked the question, and everyone has their own opinion on what they think street is.

Really his first post asked what good cruising or racing music was. Once again, everyone gave their opinion on what they like to listen to while cruising or racing. If he wants he can pull all the selections or choices everyone gave him, and make his own CD for cruising. I just so happen to think Metallicas song "Fuel" is one of hell of a song to listen to while cruising or racing. Get's the adrenaline going. Same with some AC/DC. I'm also a rap/hip hop fan. There are plenty of songs out there that can be used for cruising. Everyone has their own special blend of herbs and spices when it comes to cruising around. Some choose Britney Spears, others Slipknot. But there is no actual definition of "street" music.

So, just find what you like that you find suits yourself while you cruise. Whatever gets you pumped, melows you out, or you feel you can just plain drive to. L8...

Everyone has their own opinions. Doens't mean you need to come in here and bash on other people's choice of music. Personally I like cruising to high energy music like metallica, atreyu, pantera, etc. Or i'l listen to stuff like a perfect circle, tool, and silver chair if i want something more relaxing. I don't need listen to nelly and chingy and bump the bass to feel cool. son.

why do you hate rap so much? i've heard you speak about it lots of times. just curious to why you hate it so much.
it cant be a violence issue, cause one of my good friends listens to a lot of rock and other stuff and i hear about eyeballs bieng gutted out of peoples face and............ hell some of the stuff i heard was worse then any rap i've ever heard in my life.

so you just hate the sound of it?

anyway. i have a cd of a lot of songs mixed that get me pumped up when driving. from ja rule, to "bring sally up, bring sally down"

i got rock rap, and all kinds of stuff on the cd,

btw i'm selling it for 12.99 a piece, who wants a copy

that is your opinion. i use to feel the same way as you until i really started listening to him, and he reminds me of me in a lot of ways.

to me the best are Nas, tupac, rakim, talib, iron lung (aka methodman) and jay-z.

to me the only artist better than pac is nas. but thats my opinion. you just gotta understand that to some people, pac is the end all of hip hop.
just like to me, nas is the end all of hip hop, he sums it all up how it is and how its suppose to be

even the guys you think are better think he's one of the best if not the best- exept for method, he can care less about big or pac.

Right_LiRrr
04-14-2005, 03:24 AM
2Pac is one of the greatest rappers ever. He's one of the few rappers where I can feel the raw emotion. Like "Keep Ya Head Up" or "Life Goes on". All the people who say 2Pac is not that great probably have never gone any deeper than "California Love"...such people are really missing out.

I agree with the comment before about how much BS gets labelled as hip hop. It ain't hip hop, it's just rap, and it's crappy rap at that.

If people want real hip hop, then they have to listen to Common's "I Used to Love H.E.R.". Now that's some real hip hop.
