Paint is a special mixed solid blue, and the wing is CF:ed Messed up the paint a few times and it is still not perfect, and the panel lines are to thick. I think I made actually every misstake possible with this kit. -Painted too soon after washing body so waterdroplets were still in some corners. -Clearcoated too soon. Dissolved the base coat. -Polished through the clear coat. -The paint for the panel lines flooded out of the shallow fujimi panel lines and on to the paint. I used the same type of paint so cleaning to much with thinner would have dissolved the blue paint aswell.. -Masked for the window frames before the clear had hardened. Messed up paint again (polished out) Gahhh. I KNOW all these things already since 10 years or so, but still I rush in to things to get finished... Anyway... The wheels looked rediculously small as usual so I had to do something. I liked the design, but they needen at least another scale inch in diameter to look like the real wheels, so I added some "lips" made out of styrene, put on some BMF and carved out the profile of the tyre so the bigger rim would fit: http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC02955%20kopia.jpg http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC02957%20kopia.jpg Some pics of the finished car: http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03016%20kopia.jpg http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03027%20kopia.jpg http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03051%20kopia.jpg http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03052%20kopia.jpg http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03057%20kopia.jpg Some pretty fat-assed sisters: http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03062%20kopia.jpg http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03060%20kopia.jpg http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03037%20kopia.jpg http://plexxi.c-sam.nu/911rs/bilder/DSC03065%20kopia.jpg campenr.1 04-08-2005, 12:48 PM With all you have done wrong this is a pretty beautiful an well built kit. Like the two 911s. DukeMan 04-08-2005, 12:54 PM looking pretty damn good man! but what happened to the Viper?! Keep it up! Martin S 04-08-2005, 01:11 PM Thanks. The yellow viper is asleep in the box again for a while together with the sportquattro. Oh, I forgot. I also got glue on the windows for the first time in 10 years on the blue 911 :) mike united 04-08-2005, 03:09 PM Hey, i love your work, beautiful Porsches. Mike :sunglasse Bas Carwash 04-08-2005, 04:22 PM Hey, that's a very nice porsche. Looks very clean to me although you say it actually ain't... I think it looks great! SchuberT 04-09-2005, 02:47 PM The wheels do look a lot better now. How did you carve out the profile in the tires? Super clean build. Vric 04-09-2005, 04:53 PM nice paint job ! Martin S 04-11-2005, 09:13 AM SchuberT: I used a very sharp modeling knife, and cut along a suitable mold-line on the tyrewall. No so easy though. First you only cut about 1mm into the rubber and concentrate on making a nice edge, then yopu gradually cut deeper and deeper.. CADguy 04-11-2005, 09:29 AM It looks very good, they both do. The wheel addition really makes this car look sweet. Nice work :) DJPaul 04-11-2005, 11:24 AM great looking twing sisters :D tonioseven 04-11-2005, 12:45 PM What a nice pair!! :sunglasse Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
