hello,
I have a 2000 GC Laredo. 4.7 v8. quadra-drive. my front differential case is leaking so i am going to replace the gear lube and gasket. i don;t have an owners manual, but my haynes repair manual says to use mopar friction modifier for a limited slip differential. I am wondering if this applies to the quadra drive system. i think it is sort of a limited slip, but not a mechanical limited slip.?.? just wondering if anyone knows whether or not i need to add friction modifier. thanks!

I would doubt very much that there is a limited slip diff in the front of a factory jeep.

To be as sure as possible, there should be a second tag on under one of the diff cover bolts that tells you if the additive is needed.

Factory equipment doesn't come with the LS in the front that I've heard of .........

Get a line sheet from your friendly dealer to know what equipment you have but there should be the second tag on the rear diff as well if it needs it.

yes there is a limited slip in the front of the quadra drive jeep. that is why it can send 100% power to one wheel. it requires synthetic 75w140 gear oil with mopar friction modifier.
