It's been doing it for a while so i really wanna know whats wrong

Its more than likely that your IAC vales(idle air control valve)is plugged .Its located at the throttle body.Replace IAC valves or take it to toyota dealer to have it cleaned.

:loser:
Unsrew the clamp on the tube from the air cleaner to the thr. body
at the th. body end.
Start the engine and squirt some throttle-body-friendly cleaner into the little square hole just inside the thr. body. You'll see it.
Rev it up some, not too high.
This works about 50% of the time. While you're in there,
swab out the throttle body with the remaining cleaner and a tooth brush - ay tooth brush - nothing harsher !
If it hangs up again, you'll have R&R the iac valve for a thorough clean.
Or - $250 US for a new one

162,000 miles is still young for a Toyota.

Clean the AIC as described previously. I you feel that that's to complicated. spray the throttle body cleaner through the p port (check my pictures) and start the car (it will hesitate a bit but do not worry). Repeat 4 or five times. If that helps, it means that your AIC has some deposits. You can the take it apart and clean it better ( if you feel like it). I have never done anything to my AIC apart from time to time the p port cleaning. My camry has 200K miles and still many more to go.

Your average commercial aircraft has humoungous hours on it.
You don't see them getting traded every 4-6 years!
Ditto trucks, busses and cabs.
Keep it. The 87-91's were jewels in the Toyota crown; never to be
seen again. Except for wheel opening rust, they go forvever

That's the highest mileage that I've seen around. Keep it until you are bored. If it gives you nice mileage, you are saving a lot of money....

Then why does your profile say you have a 2005 Civic?

Don't know how your iac problem resolved, but I had to R&R mine.
It was completely blackened, and since removing it is not easy I went for a new one @ $240 ( w. gasket). Didn't wanna have to do it again.
The heads of the phillips screws securing it to the throttle body were stripped out - obviously removed, trashed & replaced by an amateur.
That's why God made needle-nose vise grips,right?
Toy. Dealer ball-parked about $550, part & labor, so it's in, I saved
$300; but it took me APPRECIABLY longer than 3hours!!
It can be done. A Haynes manual will be well worth the 20 bucks
Shalom

I run into a similar situation when I tried to open the AIC valve after I took off the TB . I could move only one screw. I decided no to try to open the AIC and ended cleanning the TB and spray a lot of TB cleaner in every hole of the AIC .
Running very well, for the time being
