I have a 1983 f-350 dually, flatbed. I mostly use it to pull a horse trailer with or to haul hay on. The other day I started it to move it for mowing, when I went to move it back it would not start. It has no power to anything. The battery is charged, & it will turn over when the cellinoid (if thats spelled right) is jumped over, but still wont start. I replaced the cellinoid, on the fender well above the battery, but still nothing. The truck literally has no power at all, no lights, radio, key switch, etc. Can anyone tell me what my next move to check should be? Thanks in advance. Jeff Bond, LaFollette TN.

My guess would be that you have a bad ground some place. Check all connections from the battery to the starter and the alternator. If the truck has set for the whole winter then it could easly be something like that. You should try to atleast start and driver your truck once a month even if is just to town and back.

check to see if you are getting power to the fuse box. make sure the body ground is not broke or missing

if you have the terminals with the molded in cable they like to corrode on the inside, and look great on the outside.
you say it'll crank when you jump the sillynoid?just won't fire and no power to anything right?check the fuseable links on the sillynoid.

Thanks for all that helped. I tried all suggestions. The problem was the fuseable link from the "sillynoid". I had no idea that this truck even had a fuseable link. Sure was hard to find. Thanks again. Jeff Bond, LaFollette TN.
