High pressure power steering line on '90 V6camrycurt 04-05-2005, 10:08 AM Hey guys, I've got a '90 V6 with a power steering leak, and it appears to be coming from the high pressure line. From reading the posts here I understand that this is a common leak area, and I also understand that it's a real pain to get to the bolt on top of the pump. Here's my question: has anyone tried to get to the bolt on the high pressure line by coming down from the top of the engine with a long extension on a socket? It looks like it might be possible to reach it from on top, but I'm wondering if there are any pitfalls that I might run into doing it that way. Just curious if anyone had already tried that and could let me know how it went. Thanks! I have a 94 toyota camry and found a leaky high pressure p.s. line at the pump. I attacked the top bolt with an extension socket with several extensions. Breaker bar got it loose. Then used open wrench on lower nut at steering. Then there was a bracket holding two pressure lines that i removed nut to take off bracket, rotated it and then loosened the screw that squeezes the two lines together. Slid the old one out and the new one in. Reinstalled in same manner. Hope this helps anyone doing the same project. I search the forum for tips before trying new projects. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
