pushrod / modularjakegday 04-04-2005, 08:25 PM yes i did a search before posting this! i know a thing or 2 about cars but i dont know shit compared to some of you guys, one thing that i dont know is the difference/differences between a pushrod engine and a modular engine, if anyone could tell me exactly what the difference is, it would cure my curiosity, thanks! KJRich 04-04-2005, 10:17 PM I'm thinking modular must refer to overhead cam engines, which don't use pushrods. Engines like the 2.4 TwinCam, or 2.2 Ecotec. Ford calls their 4.6 a modular engine, and it is overhead cam. 4dr92cavi4cyl 04-07-2005, 01:17 PM Yep, the 2.2 in second gens (92) are OHV, which means it uses pushrods, and the cam is in the bottom end. Why didn't chevy make my 2.2 SOHC? Is there really a difference in power? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
