1995 k1500 truck has no second or fourth gear reverse works fine.junesauce 04-04-2005, 08:04 PM Changed filter had tranny flushed and the swapped speed sensor allready, what could be wrong. trany allways ran strong and then i came around a corner and truck went from first to third. sevie8 04-30-2005, 06:04 PM I had a similar problem with my '92 and the clutches were worn out. Evidently it's common for them to just stop working on high mileage. (I had 134,000) I put in a rebuilt. They all seem to be rebuilt by the same company from Chicago, but the warranty mileage and time period vary according to where you buy the trans. Pep Boys was 18/18K. My trans wasn't the electronic type, but yours is, so it's possible that some shift solenoids might not be working. You could take it to a trans shop and have them give you their diagnosis. Sevie 2000CAYukon 05-01-2005, 01:06 AM From what I have read, the loss of both 2nd and 4th is usually the 2-4 band or servo assembly. In order to shift in 2nd or 4th, the outer shell of the sun gear is held still by the 2-4 band. If the band can not stop the outer shell, it will not shift in 2nd or 4th. //2000CAYukon mountainboy 07-10-2005, 08:37 AM If it's an automatic????? Its probly your 3-2 shift siliniod. Go to a transmition shop and ask the guy for used silinoid. Probly charge you about 25 bucks....... happened to me!!! fasteddie70 07-10-2005, 07:02 PM i am having the same problem. i just bought a 1995 k1500 z71. the person said that it just needed a sensor. i haven't bought one yet. been reading up on what all it might be. if the sensor goes out, will you truely lose 2nd and 4th gear? or is it the 2-4 band, servo assy, 3-2 shift solinoid? if i had someone rebuild my trans, would they be repalcing these items or is that something that would have to be purchased seperately? fasteddie70 07-15-2005, 11:22 AM i just went to a transmission shop and they said that my 2-4 band was broke. they said this after hooking up the scanner and got no codes. when i asked if it could be the shift solenoids, they said it could be but doubtful. they said that if i just lost second or 4th, that might be the case. but i have neither. i bought the truck with this problem so i don't know if they both went out at the same time or what. any idea how to check the solenoids? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
