is this deal worth it

its a b18b1 head ported and polished with titainium valves and springs and a str intake manifold for $1600 the parts only have like 150 miles on it never drag raced or anything the first time the kid went to race it he shot a rod threw the block

Just the head or the complete motor? If its the head forget about it. You can buy a complete b18b motor for a lil less than what he's asking.

he he now that i think about it that's not too bad of a deal. The P&P work and titanium valve springs and retainers are worth at least 1000 dollars.
Plus the head and STR intake= a reasonable offer.
Make sure it is working ok and its not blown.

yeah the port and polish job cost 2500 plus titainum shit, so its built and it comes with the str intake manifold, isnt that str shit like top drag and im positive its not blown i was in his car when he shot the rod and i saw the hole in the block after it happend

remember, when a rod breaks free, the piston goes straight up or straight down and bounces back up... in other words, good chance that cylinder head took a beating.

also, for springs and Ti retainers, they're $250 a set.

p&p runs about $300 for a really good job, even less for a basic p&p with 3 angle valve job. the guy who does my headwork does it for $150, including cooking out and reinstalling valve guides. $1000 for p&p would be a ripoff, even if they remachined the quench area.

the STR intake manifold runs about $1000-1200 depending where you go to get it. not a cheap part, but has minimal gains... especially on the street.

altogether for each part and labor, it's not bad, but it's definitely not a great deal for the lack of gains that setup would give you.
