about 130,000 miles on this car, with plug wires + plugs less than a year old. I was comming home the other night and noticed it was kinda shaking. It rapidly declined into a state of undriveability. Turns out, its missfiring on cyl. 4. I can feel the injectors pulse, new fuel filter, the plugs all look wet (w/ gas), and ive tested the coil and cam sensor like it shows in the book. The only thing I can think of thats left is the plug wires. Has anyone heard of a wire failing after just a year?

Switch the wire with another of approximately the same length (cyl 3?) and see if the miss moves with the wire. If is doen't, it's not the wire.

It doesnt quite work like that, theres just three wires, the one side hooks up to a coil, and that coil drives both cylinders. The timing is done by computer through a cam position sensor. I went out and bought new wires yesterday, it still does the same stuff. I had to go to work, and while i was there my dad came home and started messing with it. He said there was a grinding noise like it threw a rod or something. The motor has plenty of clean oil. We just replaced the clutch last week, taking the engine out for a thrown rod...
