so i took the 300 out today after the replacement of the head gasket that started about two months ago

smoke puffing out the valve cover is kinda discouraging allthough everybody i talk to say that its burn off

it was just burn off wheww pop pop fiz fiz ohh what a releife it is lol

boy and i thought that i was gonna have to take the heads back off and have them milled

i thought well maybe everybody is right so ill take it out and see so i warmed her up and made sure alll the lights work shoot i gotta replace a rear brake oh well

so i replace the buldb and take her to ther pavement ( after shes warm though)

i take it about a half mile no hessitation or nothin hmmm

was my head gasket replacement a success???

so i turn around after about half a mile and before i get to the stop sign on the road i was turning around on i dump the clutch and romp on her

let off and i approach the stop sign hmm i chuckle as my freind says that she sounds pretty nice

before he gets it all out of his mouth i dump the clutch again and begin a launching powerslide out the gate (lol the race is on)
i grab second and watch the boost gauge with little satisfaction my boost creep is back it launches to 10 then creeps to 12 shoot
need to put the old spring back on the pretty chromy is too sloppy lol

but anyway i still need to adjust the timing anmd by the way what should i have the timing set to?? im gonna be running 12 psi boost

i had to put a 3" muffler on it wow theres a difference its quiter than stock oh wait at 4000 rpm shes a little louder lol
had to put something to quite her down for the neibors

well anybody know a sweet spot for the timing ???

Theres a good write up on TT.net about timeing tweeks. I personally dont care for them but thats becuase I drive a NA, and as it stands right now I dont need to adjust my timeing.

It's like waking up from a fever to find it's finally broken. Refreshing. Always nice to have the weight off your shoulders. Now don't get caught,... too much anyway. :bigthumb:

yeah but you ever wake up after a fever and find out the slut next to you has a std (no not really) but now it knocks on start up like 4 knocks and at 2700 to 3300 it seems to tick ????
and the smoking from the valve cover is gone so i know its sealed
power is still there though????
and after 3 days of HARD A$$ driving (about 80 miles mopstly under 10psi boost) the low oil pressure is back shilly gotta change it and not sizzle it so quick lol

odd thing i saw my first supra of this body style today i actually followed the guy thought that it was a 300 with a bodie kit i was like????? had a dam close looking hood but the head lights were submerged but other than that it looked like a z31 i waS LIKE NO WAY
so i puill up anbd get out this guy walk out of his house almost worried looking i smiled said just had to check out your car he was like wanna buy it (what a conversation starter lol) i was like nah he says 6 g's and its yours i chuckled i was like what is it (still confused he said it was a supra i was like huh no doubt ) i said is it turbo he like duh (good sales pitch ) should have asked him to race but it was trailerd no plates and expired registration should have made hime looked stupid (just let me check my fluids lol) lets see retard the timing tighten the spring alla 14 psi relax ikt would only be for a minutwe lol but no im too stuck on the fact that he was stuck up and thought that since it was a SUPRA (oooooh the legendary) boy i aut too ok justy had to vent my bad lol bioyi think if things at the strangest timmes lol adult a d d lol

04-09-2005, 12:30 AM
hey hodo i cant even figure that site out i dont see anything about that stuff maybe im slow
and i think i got a bent rocker shaft or i didnt torque them enough ??? odd i used the refernce manual and torqued to spec
so i guess tommorrow i take the valve covers off and see whats making the horrible tick
and knock at start ewww i just got one thing fixed and i think in the process i screwed up another

stephenp
04-10-2005, 12:50 AM
well i think i broke it lol ,after a good 7000 rpm drift i think i killed it it was great one day then i start it upthe next day shes knockin and she just got all better too sniffle sniffle i think i may have either snapped a ring or destroyed a bottom end bearing sniffl sniffle
i tried to remove the rocker shafts and rerapply them with no avail shilly they both sit so perrty lol
but oh no i gotta be cruel and kill it before the week is evemn up sniffle sniffle

stephenp
04-10-2005, 11:20 PM
as i talk to myself yet again..
well unfortanately i think i spun a bearing in the bottom

tried swapping everything of the top end and no luck
tick is now a nock im almost positive its the bearings... so i guess i gotta go to the junk yard and find a vg30 hmmm hopefully theres a pathfinder .... if not does a maximas motor mounts bolt on different or do they just have different mounts and the bolt holes are still there? does anybody know???
and i know its na turbo + na motor= about a week of hold on drifts
well i dont know it might last ill just keep the boost around 4 and see what i think if it wants more ill advance the timing a bit more aand give iot 8 and then well see what thats like wanna run them lol
so i guess if anybody knows about the compatibility is if not

any other v-6's that got the same exausrt manifold bolt patern (the turbo side thart is lol) how about a 4 lol all it has to do is have that size injectors(the ports, i think they all do untill newer lol, and thwe same bolt patteren as the turbo lol and bell housing

damn lol ok vg30 it is lol fwd bolt up??????

maybe you should stop destroying your engine... that might keep it on the road a little longer... how about an rb20? you can get them for pretty cheap and they're solid motors, usually stock boosted...

stephenp
04-11-2005, 07:28 AM
are you trying to tell me not to push it to the brink of distuction , and maybe a little farther lol.
i think that it was spun during the headgasket trauma, or atleast the mayo probably did itin at about 7000 r's..
so i guess ill get a na motor out the junk yard and try and keep the boost a little low and see if i cant get about the same power with lower boost..
and in the process ill pull mine out and see what i can do .
and for a kiker since i think this may be a reoccuring problem im gonna yank my toasted nba out my 86 and see if i cant use the bearings outa that so ittl be free and i can waste it again lol and again and again
lol no not really this winter i think im gonna spend 700 and rebuild one a little better
high performance bearings fully sealed rings port the heads maybe even some new valve springs and a cam well have to see how much $$$ i got then
but anyway what would the fun be in driving if there was nmno drift????
not as much
but at any rate i hope to have it back to the street in 3 weeks this time so even though im gonna cancel the insurance ill probably just pull it out and take it to the car wash after wards lol

do you really think they can even get within anything m,ore than that of an earshot???
hell they got those doors that pull down so you can clean and wash and dry that thing in a no dirt and wind type of deal lol

stephenp
04-11-2005, 07:35 AM
note the after the fever comment it was knocking at start up i should have dropped the pan and clean them upbut i guess that is what its all bout should haves and what ifs lol but i had a hell of a fun ride though
drifted a 40' drift spun arounbd and drifted back 40' and then around a corner and i also overlayed the drift it was so fat the biggest gap was like 2' for about 8' of tyhe drift and it was a constant drift no stop iof the spin and it was a long swing and as short swing both almost identicle3 it was awsome

wait till shes rebuilt ill get my buddy to cam it and ill post it on here lol
wanna drift??

stephenp
04-11-2005, 07:39 AM
amnd none of that would be possible with out the harmfull risk of project engine distroy lol

stephenp
04-11-2005, 07:43 AM
ok i lied its project
smokka honda
honda smoke
project alphi
drift and destroy
and those are just a couple ive been tossing around and if you can come up with one for me that sticks a little better than tell me and i might get a graphics made i just cant decide which to use

I second that!!!!

stephenp

grow up a bit???
so since i have decided that i destroy my cars by driving themn the way i do and im secure with it
and i name them (or have thrown names around to call them)
so i should grow up???
grow some nuts and go out there and drift and dont look at your gauges just go to a parking lot and let loose and let it all hang out dont care if you toast it just do it

oh dont wanna toast your motor????

so i need to grow up??

why i want more power???

dont care if i blow my motor????

or because i have the nerve to give my project a name other than project z car????

like i thought
so hows any of that immature???

just let me know how it is being immature and ill try and grow up if i see your point ok

stephenp
04-11-2005, 04:36 PM
and if its the driving i do well why is it immature due to it being a rush?? and the project names are actually given to me by my freinds the ones iu came up with are from my camaro when i made a civic toas his motor and it smoked hence the project smokka honda

but anyway id like to know how its immature ????
curiosity killed the cat

First off 90% of the guys here have lots of respect for there Z's, and work there ass's off just to keep them running. Where as you think it's funny to trash it as much as you can and say it's OK cause you'll just fix it and trash it more.
As for the rush of Drifting without any reguards to engine RPM's, water temp. or oil pressure and toasting your engine is showing you have nuts, tells me your even more immature than I realized. A good seasoned driver keeps a eye on the important gages, and knows when to shut down.
I wouldn't let you within 5 feet of my cars, as I have more respect for them and no one pushes them any harder than me. You'd only hurt yourself or shit your pants IF I was to ever let you drive any of them.
Naming you projects is cool. I think everyone has a pet name.
You tell me about doing a double 90 degree switch back at 150MPH and lost the drift and you'll earn my respect. But you tell me your cutting donuts in a parking lot and blew your engine, I'll call you stupid.
You don't earn respect by bosting how many you've toasted, but by being the underdog and smoking something out of your class.
Just lately one of our guys just smoked a Z32TT with his Z32 N/A. Now that earns respect.
Rookies or Greenies don't get or deserve any respect. There dangerious to themselves and others. Nothing more than wannabe's.
I've seen many wannabe's and those that think they can handle lots of power. Right now as I type this I'm doing a computer model program of a young man that wrapped a 350Z around a pole and was killed. He was having fun and a rush, and possibly cost him his life.
I've had 2 very close friends die so others might live. Both in 1st place in a race and rather that drive into the smoke and take a chance of hitting someone, took the wall. Billy Volkovich and Dale Earnhardt. They have my respect.
You don't have to die to get my respect but telling me how many cars you toasted and if you blow the engine, so what, just keeps you in the rookie class in mt book.

wel i used to fly and take corners as fast as i could making sure the tires are at the edge of loosing all grip and i used to see just how fast i could go and iv beatin cars outa my calss and iv been beaten by cars that should have been squated 5 ' down the line
and in regards to the not watching gauges like i said once in a while and also as i stated it had a tick so it was one of those blow or goes i got irritated at the tick thought maybe something needed to get readjusted (or just get toasted )
thought i might have had blocked in an oil port or somethjing so i went and said go or blow sghe said spin a bearing i said what a bitch]
and another reason i dont drive fast enough to die is i almost did
i was rippen down a road (went down many times )and my shoe got stck under the brake pedal what the well any way i tried to brake and only crushed my foot ouch trid to down shift but to no evail i got into 1st gear at over 70 mph(redline of 6500 rpm at 35 mph in 1st) ended up pulling the e brake (thought just enough to touch the pads to the brake and didnt think of how touchy it was yah i paniced you would too if you normally braked for abiout a count of 3 to come sideways(fwd car at that ) and you have no brakes

at the end i remember searching my car for my shoe and ciouldnt find it then i remeber walking towards a light(house light but its got a nice ring ) and come to find out all the doors were pinned shut all glass still intacty(except windsheild is shattered but still whole
was that my one lucky strike???
i dont wanna know if i got another so i tonned it dowqn a little and also i actually took my bel off at the begimning of the road to do something and never put it back on if i had i supposedly wouldnt have lived cuz well id been stuck in the carupside down and severe concusion
so yeah ivew had fun at speeds i just findf other was and means of doing it andf ive been driving stick (actually first car i drove() probably since before alot of others (now seasoned drivers ) ever drove anything more than a big wheel
bnefore most have even

and also i like to repair my vehicles not nearly as much as driving and not donuts thank you and you wanna see myy track comew to my vally anytime and we'll see if you like my set of s's to 90's to slight banks boy if i had to choose one corner in my vally and yea its fun to drift in town at the right time (not too early and never late enough thanks though ill justy keep my crazy side to my self nextime and only reply with a i blew my what not

At the risk of getting too involved in the argument, Steph, could you please either check the spelling on your posts or have someone translate? It looks like if you were talking there would be marbles in your mouth and drool dripping down your chin. Don't get me wrong I type teh instead of the sometimes, but...Damn.

And ZGringo, you say it well. My thoughts are this: Even if I don't like the car you drive or the way you've set it up, if you took the time and put in the effort to make it a quality ride then my hats off to you. People like that generally make every effort to take good care of their cars, because it means more than just time, money and parts. It's the kind of person who may buy their Mobile 1 at costco, but it's because they're frugal and synthetic isn't cheap. Those are the people who squeeze out of their cars instead of giving you a door ding, or turn their wheels a few more times to get out of a parking space rather than back into you, because they understand the enthusiasm and joy of owning a great car. And great doesn't always mean Corvette or Ferrari. It's whatever you put your heart into. Steph I have no doubt you enjoy your cars, and have enthusiasm for your ride, but I get the feeling that sometimes you are just wreckless. Maybe you just have the money to fix it over and over again. I don't know, but I do know that I wouldn't let you drive my car. Take it down a notch eh?

oh and to top it off
it was the night before i was supposed to get my 2000 dodge intrepid i wanted to go home and a girl called and asked for a ride i tried to talk my way out of it in a nice way and needless to say it didnt work so i took her to her house and headed home and on the way i rolled the bitch shitty deals
no more new car and to top[ it all off i still wake up everyday with head aches and the doc says i probably always wil
and another odd part of the deal is the fact that the car was submerged in water (to the bottom of the windows (upside down so it was to the door panel )
and some how i remem\ber looking for my shoe and not being able to find it then walking to the neibors to use the phone not even knowing where i was the cop that gave me a ride to the hospital had to stop and have me use smelling salts (he used smelling salts on me ) because he thought i died and didnt want me to drift off yeah `the next morning i got a cab across the street to the bus terminal lol 5 bucks for him to go literally acroiss the street and pull into a drive then the next bus going my way was like 4 hours shit nothr cab cost 50 to get home
