Just recieved the 89 Lesabre i was talking about for a while, i have fixed the brake line problem and new fuel lines, but i have a few additional questions.

1. When you turn the vehicle ignition to the run position, the system checks, what dash warning lamps should be illuminated? My Entire Left DIC is out, should anything come on over there? The Low Washer Fluid is not visible? should it go on when it starts? The Right side DIC has a few illuminated, How do i replace these burned out lamps.

The power antenna is not working, it is stuck in the up position, the radio works great, the fuses look good, where should i start?

I believe they put two types of instrumentation in these cars - one with idiot lights only and the other with gauges and lights. Need to specify which. On the idiot light version, the left most light is the check engine light.

The instrumentation has 6 light bulbs that come on with the headlight switch and one bulb each for the warning lights. To replace, you need to remove the instrumentation panel which is under the top dash. To remove the dash:
1. Pry up and remove plastic defroster grill on top. There are 2 screws located located in the air vents.
2. Remove 6 screws located along the center front. The line of screws is at a level just below the bottom of the instrumentation panel and extends across the width of the car. Remove dash.
3. Remove (4) Instrumentation mounting screws. Pull instrumentation unit straight back to remove.

sorry for such a long break, i should have posted earlier. i was just checking my owners manual again and it made me think about my past post. anyways it lists replacement bulb numbers for multiple dash warning lamps. BTw i have the idiot light plain-jane dash. anyways it says that there is replacement bulbs for thinbgs like low fuel, low washer fluid, cruise, . it also lists security( not sure if i have that ) and abs which i know i dont have. My main question about this is should the lights for these particular systems go on when the vehicle ignition is turned to the run postion. my only concern is when my ignition is at run, the entire left DIC is blank. do i have any way of testing these lampsbefore pulling the dash. all fuses are good from what i have checked. the only lamps which turn on when i turn to "run" are Service eng soon, Brake, temp, fasten belts, oil, volts. in my right DIC the only lights which light are temp, oil and volts, something is out there b/c it has room for 4 warning lamps and only 3 are lit. someone with and 89 turn on their dash and let me know please. thankyou so much.
