shudder felt in steering wheelampro 04-03-2005, 12:43 AM I have a 2001 Limited that developed a shudder or vibration felt in the steering wheel while turning at slow speeds as in a parking lot. I've had the rack and pinion and power steering pump and pressure line replaced. It was good for a couple of weeks but now it's back. Anybody else have that trouble with a fix? I also hear a popping noise coming out of the front end when the car leans while turning a corner. I've changed strut mounts and wheel bearings with no luck. I've even changed engine cradle front mounts. Surely somebody can help. atakordie 04-03-2005, 05:39 PM Maybe check your CV axles. Look at the boots to see if there is grease leaking out of a rip or tear. Many times, grease has spun out into the wheel well or inside the rim if the outer boot failed. Clicking/popping is a common indicator of a bad CV joint. ampro 04-03-2005, 07:21 PM Thanks for the reply. I'll ask my mechanic. I told him to check everything while he had it but you know how that goes sometimes. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
