keyless entry programming.....HELP!!! plz

hello every 1 i am new to this forum but can i get a lil help. my problem is that i just got a 1993 jeep grand cherokee and it didnt have a keyless entry remote so i went and got 1 but i am was not able to program it. Does any1 know how to program this remote?...plz help :D thnx

93 has 2 types of remotes.1 type has only 1 button and the other has 2.The 1 button type can't be programmed.for the 2 button one you have to turn the key on and just aim the remote at the little black dome on the reciever and hold the unlock button.the led on the remote should start blinking and after a few seconds the doors should lock and unlock.then turn the key off and you are all set.if it doesnt work the car might actually need the other style remote and there is no easy way for you to tell which one it needs

they say the drivers door is supposed to be open

which remote do you have?and look on the drivers door for a whit sticker with a bunch of info on itit should have an MDH number which means month day hour.that tells when it was built.if its an early 93 you are sol

shit u right.........it is early 93.oh yea i got the 2 button remote......so does this mean....i cant get a keyless entry or do i have to take it to the dealer?

you probably have to get the whole system.its the receiver and transmitters,it comes as a set if its still even available.
