M3 vs Corvette

Im wondering if anyone's ever raced a vette in an E46 M3. It seems to me that a C5 Z06 or the newer C6 could smoke an M3 based on the stats and a C5 coupe might win I dont know... 3 out of 4 times seeing as its more powerful.. On the other hand I'm guessing an M3 could hold its own against the convertible since its heavier, comes with an auto trans. etc.

the m3 couldnt beat the c5 z06, but it can keep up..as for the c5 convertible or targa top, it will be a close race. if i were to choose which one to buy though, i would have to go with the M3, i am more into European tuning, not a big fan of the new-age muscle car era. the only new-age muscle cars i have respect for are the vette and the viper, thats it and thats all.

An M3 CSL would outperform a C5, but not a C5 Z06.

The Corvette convertible is available with a 6 speed manual.

The new C6 with the Z51 package is about as fast as a C5 Z06. The new C6 is five inches shorter and one inch narrower than the C5.

I like how the fenders of the new Corvette curve into the doors like the C2 and C3.

it depends on where you race them. in the hilly country of Germany, i bet the M3 would win. but on a drag strip, the C5 would win hands down.

It depends on how fat the American c6 driver is LOL
