88 k5 starting problemscaveman87 03-31-2005, 09:19 PM i have an 88 k5 blazer with a throttle body injected 350.. it just cranks and cranks but wont start i have checked all of the plugs and i know the battery is charged....i got it to start for about 5-10 seconds with starting fluid then it quit.... i think it might be a ground problem or a bad fuel pump or filter im not sure. any and all advice would be appreciated k5dan 03-31-2005, 09:28 PM first off, glad to hear of another full size on this board. As far as your problem you can start by getting as close to the gas tank as possible and have a friend turn the key to the on position and if you hear the pump prime then you may cross one off the list but not deffinitly. The best way to check the fuel system at this point is to check the fuel pressure. BlazerLT 03-31-2005, 10:45 PM check fuel pressure. Do a tuneup. caveman87 04-01-2005, 09:29 PM the fuel pump isn't working and im not sure what else it could be besides a bad wire somewhere or a bad fuel pump. k5dan 04-01-2005, 11:03 PM you can use a test light to determine if power is going to the pump caveman87 04-03-2005, 11:02 PM i got it to run by running a new wire to the connector near the fuel pump and splicing it in.. now it runs like a champ.....even on four year old gas k5dan 04-04-2005, 06:13 PM gratz vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
