My 86 regal wont burn out!!bar fightin man 03-30-2005, 07:17 PM Its a v8 can any of you suggest a good rear for a 86 regal? I figure tht's why it cant burn out. either that or the transmission. tman 03-30-2005, 08:13 PM What gears are in the rear end? unless its some really strange gearing, the rear shouldnt affect the burnout process. Burnouts occur when there is more force going to the rear wheels than the resistance of the brakes and the road surface provide. you could try a line-loc of just not do a burnout. Burnouts are hard on the driveline components, and I do not recommend them. do it if you want, but I just recommend that you not do it. bar fightin man 03-30-2005, 08:18 PM i just found out that both my back wheels push so thats probably it tman 03-30-2005, 08:22 PM I don't understand what you mean by push. xoros 04-08-2005, 01:42 PM I think he is talking about a differential gear vs. just one wheel spinning like on older cars? Did you try wetting the pavement? Or how about trying a neutral drop if you have automatic trans? Just put it in nuetral, get on the gas then drop it in drive. :) tman 04-08-2005, 04:00 PM Neutral drops are torture on a transmission. As for one wheel spinning, it isnt a matter of old cars, its how differentials work. On a normal open diff, the energy from the driveshaft takes the path of least resistance, resulting in only one wheel spinning when doing a burnout. A limited slip diff, or positraction, sends power more effectively to both wheels, resulting in a more impressive burnout. tomogchi 08-30-2005, 05:25 AM if your still looking for a rearend, go pick up a 10 bolt posi froma caprice or roadmaster. im no postive, but i think it should fit. Bill bar fightin man 09-12-2005, 05:02 PM thanx bill maxwedge 09-12-2005, 05:21 PM Amazing anyone replied to that nonsense!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
