Does anyone have any idea what the fuel mileage was rated at on a 96-98 civic hx 5 speed....also, is there any difference between an hx or dx/lx 5 speed as far as fuel mileage is concerned? Thanx!!...also, if anyone is looking to get rid of a 96-97 civic hx near ohio please let me know!! thanx again!!

What the car is rated at is almost irrelevant because EPA ratings are screwed up anyway. I believe the HX is the most gas/emissions efficient model, so it will get a few more miles per gallon than the dx and lx models

Your mileage is going to be determined much more by your driving conditions than by what the sticker on the car says. All that being said, fueleconomy.gov rated the 1998 civic HX at 36/44.
