New Exhaustprofox02 03-30-2005, 10:10 AM I NEED TO CHANGE MY EXHAUST....WHERE CAN I FIND SOME sites that have duel exhaust...OR JUST GOOD EXHAUST SYSTEMS...THX :p abaird 03-30-2005, 10:21 AM I would just buy some mufflers and tips if you want them and go to an exhaust shop and tell them what you want. Ebay has flomasters for good prices. profox02 03-30-2005, 10:30 AM I've Got A Pipe Bender I Can Use And I Have A Welder..but I Wanted To See How The Pre-package Systems Were Bent And How They Had Them Set Up.... 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 11:48 AM What kind of exhaust would you like? profox02 03-30-2005, 11:51 AM Just A Simple True Duel..with Glasspacks That Go Out The Back.. 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 11:54 AM That would be a nice setup. You can most likely just go to a shop and tell them what you would like. They can most likely put it together for you. profox02 03-30-2005, 12:01 PM I Wanna Do It Myself, I Doing It To Further My Metal Work And Welding Skills.... 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 12:03 PM True, that would be cheap. If you are staying online for a while and want to talk I have AOL IM (if you do as well that is). If not that's fine, I just figured it would be better than posting all the time. my IM screen name is: Link64721 TaNK_Em 03-30-2005, 12:05 PM Go with the true dual with some nice flowmasters, If your going with flowmasters id get a 70 not a 40 but thats really your choice. - Kevin profox02 03-30-2005, 12:06 PM Whats The Differance??? 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 12:10 PM 40 series are extremely noisy. They kind of make a drone sound in the cab. 70 series are still nice and grumbly but aren't as annoying when driving on the high way or at faster speeds for long distances. profox02 03-30-2005, 12:13 PM Ok....do U Guys Know Where I Can See Exhaust Systems So I Can Just See How They Are??? 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 12:16 PM Flowmastermufflers.com has diagrams of how the exhaust is plumbed and routed. profox02 03-30-2005, 12:18 PM Cool, Thanks For All The Info... :grinyes: 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 12:21 PM No problem. Under the site you can see many diagrams for their different systems. Just go to a model of exhaust you want and it should have a picture. Well I'm off for now, later. TaNK_Em 03-30-2005, 12:31 PM 40s are to damn loud, 70s still produce a nice sound but are not ear periceing like the 40s. - Kevin profox02 03-30-2005, 01:20 PM Any Other Sites That Have Exhaust Layouts...? Silverado Brethern 03-30-2005, 01:57 PM I would just buy the flowmaster mufflers or glass packs and then route the pipe yourself, it doesnt hafta be real particular as to where it goes. While your at it pick up a set of cut-outs, a nice buy. profox02 03-30-2005, 02:16 PM one more ?....where would i mount the muffler..closer to the engine or towards the back..will there be a differance in sound if its closer or farther from the engine??? 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 02:24 PM Somewhere aroud the middle of the truck would be best. It should balance out the sound. Most people normally don't put mufflers real close to the engine. I'm not sure what moving it far back would do. profox02 03-30-2005, 02:28 PM A'ight Thanks :grinyes: 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 02:32 PM Let me know how it works out. Any planned time on doing your exhaust project? I was hoping to build my own cat back system but I don't have a welder where I live. I would have to use my school's in our Ag Science room. profox02 03-30-2005, 02:36 PM Im Planing To Do It This Weekend Unless I Run Into Problems..i'll Post How It Works Out.. 98SilvyKid 03-30-2005, 02:38 PM Sounds interesting. Building exhaust to your own specs would be fun. Good luck with it, I seriously hope it turns out well for you. :) Tall 03-31-2005, 04:23 AM Don’t put the muffler to close to the engine, you will get extreme cab noise! Also run the pipes over the rear axle, not under it… Keep good clearance from ur rear shocks, and don’t put too much leverage on your mounts for the pipes, because they will snap over time. Oh, and I run 40s...if your going to do it, do it right :grinyes: profox02 04-04-2005, 10:40 AM the exhaust sounds good..a lot better then the old one...no problems just a lot of work...thanks for all the help. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
