Why hardly any Lancers?

Where I live in Montreal, they are hardly any Lancers. Everyone either owns a Corolla or a Civic. I hear Mitsubishis are just as reliable as Hondas and Toyotas? Is this true? If it is, I should see them just as much as I see Corollas and Civics. Yet I see more Chevy Caveliers on the road than Lancers. And Mitsubishi is now calling themselfs the best backed cars in the world. So to any of you that own a Lancer or any other Mits. can tell me if they're really dependeble cars? Thanks. Oh I just love the music they do in they're comercials now.
