How can you find your stock gear ratio?

Alright, I've got an '02 ext cab with Chevy's "power pack" (5.3, trailer hitch and the LSD rear end). So, what I was wondering is how I could find out what my factory gear ratio is,

I am pretty sure if you call up the dealership with your Vin# they can tell you. I know that there was a thread in here with the codes for the ratios and all you had to do was look it up on the sticker on the inside for hte glove box door. Maybe searching through this forum for that thread.

Check out the build sheet in your glovebox.

GT4 3.73 (most likely)
GT5 4.10
GT7 3.33
GT8 4.10
GU2 2.73
GU4 3.08
GU5 3.23
GU6 3.42
GV2 5.83
HC4 4.56
HC7 5.13
HE3 3.07
HF7 4.56
HF8 4.88

GT4 is the most popular ratio by far, you won't find most of these ratios any where near a Silverado, but I just threw them in anyway.

Hey, I have a 2000 1500 5.3 4x4 z71 (everything stock but stereo right now) and it says on the door that it should have 265/75 tires, but I bought it recently with only 245/75. from this post I found I have the 3.73 gear ratio. When I buy new tires, should I upgrade to the 265/75 and what power/towing would I lose if I did that?
