Headers for LS/VTEC???

I was wondering what header I will be able to bolt right up to my VTEC head. I am using the stock B18 header and they fit fine though I was wondering on the difference of putting on GSR Aftermarket header. Would I have any problems bolting up a GSR header to my LS VTEC? Would It also bolt directly to my exhaust? Main point is will I run into any bolt up problems? THANKS.

Is your motor built? high compression or just stock ls block with a stock vtec head?

either way a bisi or anr or smsp header would be a good choice, they are all expensive but all well worth the money.

FWIW,the weapon-R race header made almost exactly the same power as a Hytech on my old car (B20/VTEC, Crower 403 cams, 12:1 compression), the hytech made 2 or 3 more WHP at peak but the midrange was exactly the same. Weapon-R is actually hard to beat for the money.

Any dyno sheets to prove this?

That had to be like a year, maybe more ago, I doubt I still have them. Titan did a header test a while ago, here's their comparison of the Weapon-R and the Hytech.

Keep in mind the Hytech was leaner all across the rev range in this test, and did contribute to being better in the midrange. Makes you think twice about shelling out 1000+ dollar for a Hytech, etc, when you can pick up a weaponR for about 200 bucks :)

Stock LS Block, with a B16 Head and CTR cams. I am just worried about getting a header for a GSR and it doesn't bolt up correctly. I am sure it'll bolt up to the head though not the exhaust end of it. Hate to do any fabrication work.

it will bolt on since all b series exhaust are the same. i have a megan 4-1 header. i can't think of anything better for price/performance. but if you want to go expensive then civicHBsi91 has some good choices.

Glad to hear about the Megan header, I was looking at getting aset for myself though was hesitant. So it looks like I have to stick with getting an LS header for my LSVTEC then.

Other than your cat flange possibly being flipped turned differently. Cylinder head flange will bolt up, regardless of which B series you have.

However, the GSR oil pan sits lower, as it has the crank girdle. So, you cannot put a B16/B18B header on a GSR, make any sense?

Just curious because nobody has brought them up yet, are DC headers any good. Or would a Weapon R be a better choice. My LS/Vtec has PR3 pistons, basically bumps compression from 9.6:1 to 11.5:1. Also what size exhaust would you recomend, 2.5"? Exhaust Flow has got to be the only area I'm not at all experienced in.

i have a DC 4-2-1 header on my b16 and performance wise is pretty similar to my 4-1. the dc header was double the price i paid for my megan and the megan stainless steel looks SO good once it's heated up. jdm spec headers will have a 2.5" collector.
