3S-GTE tranny choicesCTD20 03-26-2005, 02:00 PM I need a list of longitudinal transmissions that will mate up to the 3S-GTE block. The E153 transaxle, nice as that unit is, just isn't an option in this current project. Thanks guys. clawhammer 03-26-2005, 08:03 PM Why would you want longitudinal in an MR2? It's mid-engined rear-wheel drive, it's basically a FWD engine/tranny rotated 180 degrees. NMHitman 03-27-2005, 01:04 PM ...and whats wrong with the stock turbo trans...I've read over at the mr2 owners club that it can take a significant amount of power over stock. MR2turbo93 03-27-2005, 02:31 PM he might be putting it in a supra or AE86 MR2turbo93 03-27-2005, 02:32 PM i think the Altezza tranny might bolt up as it uses the 3SGE bloce but i'd research it more CTD20 03-27-2005, 06:02 PM The engine isn't going into an MR2 (I'd rather not say what it's going into, it would be considered blasphemy). That aside, I still need a longitudinal transmission. I'm well aware of the capabilities of the MR2 (I have one) but this project simply cannot use the stock E153 transaxle, strong as that unit is. The recipient car is an FR setup and cannot be converted to MR (bitchin as that would be). About that Altezza trans, would that work? That's a slick trans. drazhartd 03-28-2005, 06:06 PM The engine isn't going into an MR2 (I'd rather not say what it's going into, it would be considered blasphemy). Hmm... well it can't be a civic, being FR, so it's all right with me ;P CTD20 04-02-2005, 10:36 PM thanx draz, but i still need a tranny....any ideas ppl? clawhammer 04-03-2005, 12:04 AM I'm extremely curious as to what it's going in. Please spill it foxman18 04-06-2005, 09:19 PM I'm extremely curious as to what it's going in. Please spill it i agree wat is it going into?? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
