There is a grinding sound coming from the front end when I turn the steering wheel too far to either side. I am not turning the wheel to its limits, it only happens when I have to make a sharp or close turn. I have a '97 SLT 1500 4x4, 5.9L. Any ideas on what the problem may be. The bearings have been replaced and there are no other problems.

So the wheel bearing have been replaced? How about the U joints for the front axle? I'd have someone stand out there and listen while you move the steering side to side, and try to locate the source of the sound.

Okay, it sounds like it's coming from the rotors but, again, it's only when the wheels are turned hard and the truck is barely moving.
??????????????????

Was the noise there before the bearings were replaced?
