I have a 91 turbo with a bunch of mods, but unfortunatly i have an engine with only 80 lbs of compression on each cylinder. Im looking for a replacement engine and wanted to know what everyone recomonded. Pickin up a JDM enginge, or should i look for a rear clip. and if so which one should i look for if i wanted the LSD. ANy help would be appreciated on what i should look for and where i might find it. thanks guys.

Your compression is EVEN in all 4 cylinders?
It would be very unusual that all 4 cylinders would be low. If they are even, I think you should have another comp check done. It sounds like a healthy motor to me.

I avoid "JDM" engines. I rather work with something that is supported here (in the U.S.).

LSD was an option in the 93+ MR2s.

I would talk to Dave at http://www.paautoracing.com/
Tell him I sent you. He can supply you with what you want.

Good luck with your car.

Might be your valve timing is wrong from the last time the timing belt was changed - or maybe it jumped a tooth. That might explain the low but fairly even compression.
